Barcelona are weighing up a move for Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are so sure of the midfielder’s talent they didn’t even bother scouting him when Germany met Argentina on Wednesday evening.

The report claims three of Barcelona’s senior scouts –  Ramon Planes, Goran Vucevic and Bojan Krkic – have watched the German multiple times and have “no doubts” about the player.

Havertz is considered the “best young footballer in Germany” by the Catalan club. But price could be an issue.

Mundo Deportivo claim Barcelona were quoted €70m for the 20-year-old when they enquired months ago.

However, given the money that Premier League clubs have, Barça have their doubts that he would be available for less than €100m.

Bayern Munich have not been shy about their interest in Havertz but the loan of Philippe Coutinho has now cast doubt over if they will pursue him next summer.

So, Barcelona could finance a move for the long-term Bayern target by … selling Coutinho to Bayern?

The transfer merry-go-round is in motion yet again.
