Juventus will be without Mehdi Benatia for their trip to Young Boys in the Champions League this week.

The Moroccan defender took part in training on Tuesday with the rest of the Bianconeri squad but had to pull out after suffering inflammation to his knee.

The centre-back has been used sparingly so far this season but was expected to start in Bern on Wednesday.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side however have confirmed that Benatia will not travel with the rest of his team mates and will be assessed ahead of their Serie A clash with Torino on the weekend.

Two players Allegri will be able to call upon though are Alex Sandro and Emre Can.

Both men have been missing for the past couple of weeks through injury and illness, but the duo are in line for selection in their Group H decider tomorrow.

Juventus need to win the match so as to guarantee top spot from Manchester United.
