Juventus linked with a really surprising move for Arsenal striker

So on Wednesday we thought we had found the craziest transfer rumour of all time. Maybe not so.

According to the Daily Mail and CalcioMercato, Juventus, the Serie A Champions, the best team in Italy, the team that reached the Champions League final twice in the last three years, the club of Roberto Baggio, Alessandro Del Piero and Fabrizio Ravanelli want …

… wait for it …

… Olivier Giroud.

Yeah, we cannot get our heads around this one either. And, to make matter more interesting, they are not the only Italian club who are interested in the 31-year-old striker, so too are Inter Milan.

Were he to sign for Juventus, Giroud would challenge Mario Mandzukic for a starting spot but would he really be an upgrade on the Croatian? We are not so sure.

Of course, the chances of Giroud leaving Arsenal are high. He is spending far too much time on the bench of late for his liking and has already admitted that he was very close to a leaving Arsenal for Everton.

“I had the opportunity to leave [Arsenal],” he told French TV station Canal Plus. “I was very close to another English club, Everton. But I think I made the best choice.”

Giroud joined Arsenal from Montpellier for in June 2012 and cost the club £13m. So far he has played 238 games and scored 100 goals.
