Juventus are keen on bringing Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Rúben Neves to Turin this winter, according to reports in Italy.

Neves was outstanding as he helped Wolves gain promotion to the Premier League last season, and the Portuguese international has been in impressive form this term too.

According to Italian outlet Tuttosport, the Bianconeri are keen on signing a new midfielder during the January window, and the 21-year-old is on their shortlist.

Tuttosport claim Juve’s sporting director Fabio Paratici and president Andrea Agnelli both met with Neves’ agent Jorge Mendes on Wednesday to discuss a potential transfer.

Mendes also represents Cristiano Ronaldo and João Cancelo and has a good relationship with the Serie A giants.

Neves joined Wolves from Porto in the summer of 2017 for a fee reported to be in the region of €17.9m.

He has since scored eight times in 54 appearances for the Midlands club and been capped nine times by the Portuguese national team.

Manchester City are also understood to have expressed an interest in his services, but the Premier League champions would now appear to have made Ajax defender Frenkie de Jong their prime target.
