With the football on hold at the moment, we’ve been thinking about who gets in Juventus’ all-time XI.

Today we’re choosing the second of the forwards.

Here are the nominees

3rd – Cristiano Ronaldo

We hear you. Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t even have two full seasons of service under his belt in Turin but could you really justify not having him on the podium?

When one of the top two strikers of all time has played for your club and still shows a high level in his advancing years, he simply has to be worthy of discussion.

Want proof? In his 1,000th professional outing, the Portugal international equalled a Serie A record by scoring for the 11th consecutive game, doing so at the age of 35. He truly is a phenomenon.

2nd – Omar Sivori

Coming in at number five on Juventus’ all-time scoring rankings, Sivori was one of the first foreign players to become truly beloved by the Bianconeri faithful.

How good was Sivori? Well, he was a somewhat diminutive, left-footed goalscoring menace born just outside Buenos Aires. Does that sound familiar?

He wound up with 171 strikes in black and white before leaving for Napoli and was a Ballon d’Or winner in 1961.

And the winner is
 David Trezeguet

There aren’t many strikers, even at the highest level for a club like Juventus, who have that envy-inducing ability to be gifted the ball in the box and you know before they have pulled the trigger where it will end up.

Juve’s French forward was one such player though, simply deadly when he found himself a yard of space to shoot and whether it was right the right foot, left foot or head, Trezeguet was ruthless.

His partnership with Alessandro Del Piero was the stuff of dreams and remains the most prolific attacking duo in the club’s history.

Trezeguet certainly played his part in that, ending his time in Turin with 171 goals in 320 appearances in all competitions.

Here’s how the team is looking so far

GK: Gianluigi Buffon RB: Lilian Thuram CB: Gaetano Scirea CB: Claudio Gentile LB: Antonio Cabrini CM: Michel Platini CM: Roberto Baggio CM: Zinedine Zidane ST: Giampiero Boniperti ST: David Trezeguet

Check back tomorrow when we will be choosing the final player to feature.
