Juventus are reportedly considering a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcântara as an alternative to Paul Pogba.
The Bianconeri are keen to re-sign Pogba – who won six trophies during four successful years in Turin – with his Manchester United career continuing to sour.
But according to Tuttosport, Juventus are keen to avoid a ‘summer saga’ and could target Thiago if their pursuit of the Frenchman becomes complicated.
Thiago’s current Bayern deal expires in 2021 and the Bundesliga club are yet to initiate talks over fresh terms.
A report from Bild last month stated the 28-year-old remains a ‘divisive’ figure at board level after patches of inconsistent form.
Outcast midfielders Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot could potentially be used as makeweights in any potential deal.
