Sheyi Ojo spent last season on loan with Fulham, where he played 24 times in all competitions as they were promoted to the Premier League.
While the 21-year-old winger has been impressive this pre-season, Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp admits his game time would be limited if he stayed put.
“Here it is a little bit difficult, especially for the offensive players,” Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com
“Ojo played a fantastic pre-season, really good and confident technically, really strong, improved a lot in tactical things and his attitude was great.
“For me, he is a no-brainer, to be honest, and I think that will happen. It makes sense for him to go on loan. That’s how it is for a few of the others.
“Michael Edwards and his full department are working hard on that. At one point, 9 August, we will make a decision and we have to work with the players we really want to have in the squad. That’s how it is for everyone.”
Ojo has been tracked by Middlesbrough, who could use attacking options after Patrick Bamford joined Leeds in a deal worth up to €11m.
