Julen Lopetegui names first Liga XI as Real Madrid boss

Julen Lopetegui has named his first La Liga starting XI as Real Madrid coach as Los Blancos hose Getafe in their domestic opener.

The reigning European champions lost their European Super Cup encounter against city rivals Atlético on Wednesday, and there’s only two changes from that side.

Raphaël Varane is benched and is replaced by Nacho, whilst Casemiro is also given a rest, with Dani Ceballos coming in.

New signing Thibaut Courtois isn’t preferred to Keylor Navas in goal, but Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale – who have formed such a good parternship in pre-season – do start up top with Marco Asensio.
