Juan Foyth had an ignominious start to November by conceding two penalties against Wolves in the Premier League.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino praised his defender publicly and the 20-year-old repaid that assurance by scoring the match-winner at Crystal Palace a week later.
The centre back then made the squad for the senior Argentina national team in Friday night’s match against Mexico. Foyth won rave reviews for his tenacious defending and was recognized with the Man of the Match award.
In addition to a whirlwind two weeks for Foyth, his start for the Albicelestes also marked an achievement for Tottenham Hotspur.
The club have now set a new record for the number of full internationals on the book.
Spurs currently have 25 players on their senior national teams after Foyth’s debut against Mexico.
Argentina face El Tri again on Tuesday, allowing a chance for goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga to feature and push the figure to 26.
