Werder Bremen youngster Josh Sargent has admitted he is ready for more chances in the first team after scoring two goals in his three appearances so far this season.
The 18-year-old joined Florian Kohfeldt’s side last February but had to wait 10 months for his debut – where it took him less then two minutes to find the back of the net against Fortuna Düsseldorf.
The USA international then backed that up with another strike against RB Leipzig a week later, and the teenager has claimed that he wants more minutes in 2019.
“My goal? I hope to be in the squad every week, every match day,” he told ESPN.
“And I hope to score more goals.
“The coach made it very clear that it’s not 100 percent whether I’ll be in the squad every week,” he said. “I know that I just have to keep working my hardest and try to prove to him that I can be in the squad.
