Manchester United manager José Mourinho has admitted he’s torn over how he wants his players to get on at this summer’s World Cup.
The Red Devils have 11 players going to Russia, including the likes of Romelu Lukaku, David De Dea and new boy Fred.
But the Portuguese tactician has conceded that although he wants his players to do well, he also wants them to enjoy an extended break.
“It is very difficult. I don’t want to be emotional, but I have to be,” Mourinho explained to RT.
“I want my players to win, but I also want my players to go on holiday. So, this is going to be tough.”
Mourinho also apologised specifically to Nemanja Matić, who is going to the World Cup as a key member of the Serbia squad.
Serbia are in Group E With Brazil, Switzerland and Costa Rica and the United boss tipped Switzerland to go through at the expense of Serbia, with Brazil winning the group.
“I need Matic to go on holiday so Switzerland to finish second, I’m sorry Nemanja but you need a holiday,” Mourinho said.
