After not being able to overtake Seamus Coleman in the pecking order at Everton, Jonjoe Kenny was shipped off to Schalke on a season-long loan.

In a bit of a surprise, the 23-year-old started from day one and has been incredibly impressive with the Germans, starting 26 of their 29 contests in all competitions this season – only missing out due to injury and illness.

Kenny still has two years remaining on his Everton deal and with no option-to-buy in his loan deal, Schalke would have to negotiate a fee with the Toffees.

According to Bild, Everton would currently price out Schalke, which would make a second loan spell the best option – something that Kenny would reportedly prefer over a return to Goodison Park.

Last season at Everton, Kenny made 13 appearances for the Toffees but lost his place once Coleman returned from injury.

The England U-21 international made his debut for the Toffees in 2016 and has also spent time on loan at Wigan and Oxford United.
