Terry has been linked with several managerial jobs and is rumoured to have turned down the West Brom job over the summer, with Slaven Bilić filling in and guiding them to a first-placed start.

Former Birmingham City skipper Steve Cotterill is currently the favourite after he held talks with Hearts bosses in recent days.

Hearts are currently ninth in the Premiership table, winning just twice in their first 12 games of the season.
