Joe Gomez praised Liverpool new boy Takumi Minamino for already having adapted to Jürgen Klopp’s intense style of play.
Liverpool triggered Minamino’s meagre £7.25m release clause after the Japan international put on a pair of incredible displays for Red Bull Salzburg against the Reds during this season’s Champions League group stage.
Minamino already has four Liverpool appearances under his belt and Gomez says the best is yet to come from the 25-year-old.
“He’s a happy, positive guy. He’s got a nice aura to him. To be fair, everyone was aware of him from when we played him, the effect he had,” Gomez told Sky Sports.
“When he came to Anfield, how well he done and how well he took the game.
“His desire to press and adapt to our style of play. The gaffer wants us to play a certain way and he has that tenacity about him, to want to get about and put pressure on.
“An unbelievable addition.”
Minamino could be poised to earn his first Premier League start next weekend when Liverpool plays away at Norwich City.
