Juventus defender João Cancelo has hinted that Cristiano Ronaldo will be fit to face Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The 34-year-old has not featured since suffering a muscle injury with Portugal on March 25, but remained adamant that he would return for the quarter-final clash.

Cancelo himself was a doubt to feature, but after recovering from a calf problem, is looking forward to lining up alongside his international team-mate.

“I am feeling well,” he told Sky Italia. “I had a minor problem at the calf that’s why I didn’t play the last two games.

“Now I am fit and ready to play, I will play in Amsterdam. Cristiano Ronaldo is training with us and he will do everything he can to play.

“He thinks he will be called-up, then we’ll see if he will start. Obviously the manager has the last word.”

The Bianconeri face Ajax having dropped points in just one of their last eight games.
