Soon after Tottenham secured the club-record signature of Tanguy Ndombèlé, it appears Lyon have scored their own transfer victory over Spurs.
According to the ever-reliable Gianluca Di Marzio, Sampdoria centre-back Joachim Andersen will join the Ligue 1 side amid heavy interest from Tottenham.
The 23-year-old has established himself as one of Serie A’s most promising young talents and was being viewed as a potential replacement for Toby Alderweireld, who has 12 months remaining on his current contract.
Lyon are set to pay €25m for Andersen plus another potential €5m in add-ons only two seasons after Sampdoria purchased the player from Dutch side FC Twente for just €1.5m.
