Jetro Willems has been enjoying a fantastic loan spell at Newcastle, starting 17 of the club’s 22 Premier League outings so far.
Now, there’s talks that the Magpies will take in the 22-time Netherlands international on a permanent deal, with some rumours suggesting the Magpies will fork over a fee of around £10m to Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of the season.
In an interview with ChronicleLive, the 25-year-old admitted he’s enjoying life at the club and hinted that a deal may already be in place.
“I feel the same – I’ll keep going. I heard some things that the club have already agreed with Frankfurt.
“I haven’t spoken to them. We will see, but it will be nice.
“I don’t know if people think I am doing my job well but I am feeling good.
“I told everybody at the beginning, it’s a warm city. Everybody is into their football and Newcastle United.
“I have been around the city a few times but I usually stay at home and rest. It’s very different to Frankfurt.
“Frankfurt is the banking city of Europe and is quite busy. But I didn’t stay around the city centre, I don’t like to do that.
“I like to be with my family. Every city has its threats but I am quite OK here.”
Newcastle will face Rochdale on Tuesday in the replay of their third-round FA Cup tie. Their first encounter ended in a 1-1 draw at Crown Oil Arena.
