The Clásico Tapatío is almost here and the players are very much up for the occasion.

With Atlas near the bottom of the league in recent times, this season’s edition of the Chivas-Atlas rivalry is bound to be special, with the two sides currently separated by just one point in the top half of the Liga MX table.

Mexican international Jesús Molina, who has won trophies with Tigres, América, Santos, and Monterrey, admitted his excitement ahead of his very first Clásico Tapatío.

“I’m looking forward to playing and being able to win it for our fans. I’m looking forward to that day.

“Winning this game would be a turning point in our season, as we would solidify ourselves toward the top of the table.

“Clásicos define you as a footballer and as a team.”

Molina arrived at Chivas in January from Monterrey in a €2.63m move.

Kickoff is set for 10pm EST on Saturday night.
