Southampton defender Jan Bednarek hopes that he can repay the faith shown in him by new boss Ralph Hasenhüttl.
The Poland international struggled to make an impact on the south coast under former man Mark Hughes but was immediately reinstated back into the first team with the Austrian tactician’s arrival.
It’s seen an upturn in fortunes for the Sains and Bednarek has conceded that he wants to perform as a thank you to his manager.
“If you get given something then you have to give back. That’s the main thing,” the centre back told the Daily Echo.
“If he is showing me that he trusts and believes in me, then I have to give back. I can help him by being a team player and adding some quality to the team.”
Next up for Southampton is a crucial relegation tussle against Brighton.
