Chivas looked extremely lethargic as the fell 2-0 to rivals América in Wednesday’s Copa MX quarter-final.
They were the butt of many jokes across Mexico for their lackluster performance, and Jair Pereira vowed his side would improve their play in Saturday’s Súper Clásico.
“The team always tries to have a good attitude. Sometimes things do not come out in our favor.
“I will never reproach the team about anything. We have to improve.
“We can not compete against anyone when we play like this.”
In addition to the pressure of a Súper Clásico, many believe manager José Cardozo could be fired if they lose this weekend.
