Sunderland boss Jack Ross has hinted that Ethan Robson has a big future at the Stadium of Light.
The 22-year-old is currently on loan at League Two side Grimsby Town and despite making just 14 appearances with the first-team, Ross says his loan could be the key to the midfielder earning a new deal.
“We will reassess that again in January but I spoke to him about it I think he was of the same opinion.
“I think he has good attributes and I think he’s a player who could go on to be successful here but he is 23 and he needs to play.”
Robson is currently out-of-contract at the end of the season after coming through the Sunderland academy and making his debut in 2017.
