Sunderland boss Jack Ross has refused to comment on speculation linking him with the vacant Scotland national team job.
With Alex McLeish getting the boot earlier this week it wasn’t long before plenty of people had Ross as their favourites to take over the Tartan Army.
The 42-year-old has worked wonders at the Stadium of Light this term, leading the Black Cats to an EFL Trophy final and fourth in League One.
But Ross has insisted that his only focus is doing well for Sunderland this season.
“I’m aware there’s a huge amount of speculation with all managerial jobs now,” he told reporters.
“I spoke last week about how much I enjoy the job here and how much I have to go to have done the job properly.
“As you can imagine, my focus has very much been on trying to lift the players from Monday and prepare properly for this weekend’s game.”
