Jack Grealish says Aston Villa team-mate John McGinn is one of the best players he’s ever played with.
But he admits he didn’t know who McGinn was when Villa first signed him.
The Scotland midfielder moved to Villa Park from Hibernian in a deal worth just £3m last summer and has proved to be one of the bargains of the season, having contributed six goals and nine assists in his maiden campaign.
And Grealish can still recall how he felt when he heard the 24-year-old was joining the club.
“I didn’t have a clue who he was,” Grealish told the Sunday People.
“Steve Bruce pulled me aside one day and said, ‘We’ve got a good player coming in – John McGinn’
“He [McGinn] has been a breath of fresh air.
“He is one of the best I have ever played with – and I’ve played with some decent players.”
Grealish and McGinn are likely to start together in midfield when Dean Smith’s side aim to secure promotion back to the Premier League against Derby next Monday.
