Italian Football Federation Commissioner Roberto Fabbricini has admitted he is ‘worried’ about reports over Milan’s financial status.

A story emerged on Monday in Corriere della Sera that Rossoneri owner Yonghong Li was ‘essentially bankrupt’ and was having his assessed auctioned off in China.

And the new temporary commissioner of the FIGC has conceded that he is concerned about the club’s finances, and will look to seek assurances over their future.

“I am worried about Milan, as it’s a situation regarding a big club and a very important element of Italian football,” he told reporters.

“We’ll see how things develop, but reading the papers it really makes you think, so we must be very wary. I will try to contact the club over the next few days and understand the situation.”

Milan have so far not released any statement countering the latest allegations of financial problems surrounding Li.
