Inter Milan have placed a €25m price tag on striker Gabriel Barbosa, their striker who is currently on loan at Flamengo.
Barbosa has impressed during his spell in Rio, so much so that Flamengo want to make the deal a permanent one.
Despite Flamengo’s desire for Barbosa, reports from Italy suggest that the Rubro-Negro have not been prepared to offer more than €19m to date.
The Brazilian Serie A table-toppers are not the only party chasing Barbosa’s signature. A host of European clubs are interested in acquiring the 23-year-old, with Portuguese giants Porto believed to be among the frontrunners.
However, Barbosa is on the radar of teams across the continent, with Schalke, Crystal Palace, Sevilla and Lille all monitoring the situation.
Italian website TuttoMercatoWeb has reported the €25m figure.
With Lautaro Martínez and Romelu Lukaku performing well up front for Inter this season, boss Antonio Conte is keen to offload Barbosa to create funds for other acquisitions.
Conte is believed to want to bring in another striker and midfielder during the January transfer window.
It seems likely the Nerazzurri will have no shortage of offers for Barbosa, who has scored two goals in five international appearances for Brazil.
