Borussia Dortmund fans could be in for some good news after three players were back on the training pitch on Thursday.

Mario Götze, Paco Alcácer and Axel Witsel all missed last Saturday’s 3-2 win over Hertha BSC but could still be back in action as soon as next week.

There are fears the trio could miss the title clash against Bayern Munich on 6 April but their returns to training should leave Dortmund fans optimistic.

Marcel Schmelzer, Julian Weigl, Ömer Toprak and Marius Wolf were also in training as they have not been called up for international duty.

While Götze, who broke his ribs last week, trained with them, Alcácer and Witsel completed individual sessions.

With Götze and Alcácer both missing in Berlin, Danish winger Jacob Bruun Larsen led the line for the Black and Yellows. Lucien Favre is likely to depend on him again next week, when BVB host Wolfsburg.
