İlkay Gündoğan was on the scoresheet late on as Manchester City nearly completed a whirlwind come-back against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

Ultimately, Liverpool were able to hang out, handing City their first defeat of the season in a 4-3 final.

Some pundits asked whether the result shows that Manchester City can be vulnerable but Gündoğan is having no such talk.

“I am quite sure that we will and then we are going to bounce back and find again, 100 per cent, our way,” he told City’s official YouTube channel.

“I am sure that it is then nearly impossible to stop us.”

The German midfielder also urged his team-mates to look forward and not dwell on the loss.

“Our first defeat of the season – we need to accept that, even though it’s not easy,” he admitted.

“But we will look forward and we will now focus on the next game. We have nearly one week to prepare for it. It continues and we won’t stop.”
