Idrissa Gueye has reportedly asked to leave Everton as interest from Paris Saint-Germain intensifies.
The Parisians had an initial €25m bid rejected on Monday and were told firmly the midfielder is not for sale.
However, according to Mail Sport, Gueye has asked club officials to leave Goodison Park but agreed not to submit an official transfer request.
PSG secured the signing of Leandro Paredes on Tuesday but still want to sign the 29-year-old this month.
Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucouré and Napoli ball-winner Allan were also on their shortlist but deemed to expensive after initial enquiries.
The Ligue 1 champions are expected to try again for Gueye but will not meet Everton’s €40m valuation.
