Zlatan Ibrahimović will eclipse Kaka to become the highest-paid player in MLS history, say reports.

ESPN claim the 37-year-old will earn between $7m and $7.5m in 2019 having signed a new deal with LA Galaxy.

The contract will see him earn more than the figure former Brazil international Kaka amassed during his time at Orlando City.

Having been one of Europe’s biggest stars with Real Madrid and Milan, the playmaker earned $6.66m in 2017, according to data from the MLS Player Association, but that figure is set to be dwarfed by Ibrahimović’s new deal.

The ex-Manchester United attacker had been linked with a return to Milan at the San Siro before he put pen to paper to stay in America.
