Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris has insisted that everyone at the club has to stop talking about winning trophies and start actually doing it.
Spurs reached the Champions League final last season but ultimately lost 2-0 to Liverpool.
That was the closest they have come to winning something since the 2008 League Cup.
And Lloris has claimed that the squad are entirely focused on claiming some silverware this term.
“We have been talking about trophies now for at least two seasons,” he told L’Equipe.
“It is one thing to talk about it – it is another thing to show what we can do. We don’t need to talk any more about winning trophies.
“It is the ambition of the board, it is the ambition of the manager and the coaching staff and it is the ambition of the players.
“So we don’t really need to add any more words about this. Just focus on our performances and our games and try to be as consistent as we can and finish as high as we can.
“We don’t want to lose energy talking, we just want day-by-day to do our best. Of course we can capitalise by taking belief from the last two or three seasons when we have been great and we just have to carry on.
“But there is no secret about how you get there. It is about work, it is about mentality, it is about personality. But I think we are looking forward to this season.”
Spurs got their season off to the perfect start last weekend by beating Aston Villa 3-1.
