Reports out of Italy have the Houston Dynamo linked with Slovenian centre back Aljaž Struna.

Houston have so far focused their off-season on addressing a disappointing defence. The team conceded a troubling 58 goals in 2018, ninth worst in the league, as they finished 11 points outside of the play-offs.

The 28-year-old is active with his national team, appearing as recently as a UEFA Nations League match against Norway on 16 November.

TuttoMercatoWeb report that the Slovenia international has signed a four-year contract with Houston.

They write that the player will give an official farewell to his team-mates at the end of the year before embarking for the United States.

Struna initially joined Palermo in 2012 though he saw more playing time during two loan spells at Carpi. The player’s contract was set to expire at the end of the Italian season in June but the parties reached an agreement for an earlier departure.

In addition to signing Struna, the Dynamo have also added a full-back and a ball-winning midfielder. Houston have recently announced midfielder Matías Vera and American right-back Chris Duvall while reportedly pursuing Honduran defender Kevin Álvarez.
