Hibernian suspend Neil Lennon following altercation with club staff | OneFootball

Neil Lennon was suspended by Hibernian on Saturday and is unlikely to take charge of the Scottish Premiership side again.

BBC Scotland report that Lennon was involved in a heated exchange with several of the club’s employees on Friday.

Hibs face St Mirren on Sunday but the 47-year-old is not expected to be in charge, and it is not yet known whether the Northern Irishman’s assistant Garry Parker will be in the dugout either.

According to the Scottish Sun, Lennon tore into his players during a team meeting about their performance in Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat to Motherwell.

His conduct is said to have angered club chief executive Leeann Dempster and a decision was made to suspend him.

But Parker and the rest of the backroom staff have reportedly been left furious by Lennon’s treatment and are 100% behind him.

Lennon took over at Easter Road from in June 2016 and led the Hibees the Scottish Championship title and promotion back to the Scottish Premiership (after a three-season absence) in his first season.

He leaves the club languishing in 8th place and without a win in their last five matches.
