Guillermo Ochoa will have to earn his spot at América, according to manager Miguel Herrera.

Despite being the number one shot-stopper for the Mexican National Team, Ochoa’s spot at América is not a guarantee, especially with current keeper Óscar Jiménez playing well for América.

“Oscar knows that he does his job and with that, he convinces me that he will have his place,” said Herrera. “Nobody has a guaranteed spot, Ochoa will come to fight for his place.”

Jiménez has been between the pipes the last two games for América and has only had one goal against.

“Any player on the squad deserves to play and this is a team. We are doing well and we are winning,” added Herrera. “When I have to work with Memo, we will make a good team.”
