Henry Onyekuru reveals he rejected joining Paris Saint-Germain over doubts involving playing time.

Onyekuru opted to sign for Everton in 2017 instead after impressing for Belgian side KAS Eupen.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan with Galatasaray, where he has scored 12 goals in 37 appearances this season.

“I did a medical with PSG on a Friday and we had to wait until Monday so they could the signing official,” he told BBC Sport.

“I spoke to my friends and my mother, asking if it was a good idea to play in Paris and they gave me their opinions.

“So I decided to take their advice and cut the deal off – just like that. I told my agent to call PSG that we are backing out.

“I wanted to play regularly in the Champions League, which is why I opted for Everton via Anderlecht.”

After failing to win their last three games, PSG host Monaco on Sunday as they hope to seal their Ligue 1 crown.
