Gonzalo Higuaín is reportedly considering a switch to Roma this summer, with the Giallorossi ready to take the striker on an initial season-long loan.
The striker has been told he is not part of Maurizio Sarri’s plans in Turin after failed loan spells at Milan and Chelsea.
He had been adamant he wouldn’t play for another Italian club other than Juve, but a story in Corriere della Sera says that he is starting to open up to the idea of a switch to the capital.
The cost of the operation would be a problem, so the Italian publication claims the plan is to extend his contract with Juventus and keep the overall wage bill the same, effectively spreading the salary over a longer period.
He could then join Roma on loan with option to buy at €26m – considerably less than the €36m Milan and Chelsea were asked for – and lower wages.
