LaLiga’s proposed move to play a domestic league game in America has caused all sorts of ructions inside Spanish football.

The players and their union are dead against it, but Primera División president Javier Tebas has insisted it is going ahead this season.

There have been several contradictory reports as to which game will be moved over to North America, but one paper in Catalonia has claimed it will be Girona’s match against Barcelona that will be shifted to Miami.

According to L’Esportiu, Girona’s fixture at home to the Blaugrana – which was due to take place on January 25 or 26 – will be switched to the Florida city.

It’s claimed that the Blanquivermell are already facilitating this fixture change and will offer their members four different proposals for those that either want to travel, or don’t want to make the trip to the East Coast.

The first option Girona are proposing is to offer 1500 free tickets to the match in Miami to their season ticket holders – with a deposit scheme to be paid before the fixture and refunded thereafter.

The second for those fans that want to go to the States would see the club offer them travel packages that includes flights, admission to the game and a stay in a hotel worth up to €600.

The options for those Girona supporters who are members, but don’t want to go to Miami, are 5000 free tickets to their reverse fixture against Barcelona which takes place at the end of September – plus 20 per cent off their season ticket next season.

Or finally, Girona would offer 40 per cent off fans’ season ticket prices next season.
