After a humiliating dull 0-0 draw versus Serie C side Cesena, AC Milan manager Marco Giampaolo has admitted there is a long road ahead for his club.

“There is a long road to go,” Giampaolo told reporters after the game. “We need a lot of physical effort to move forward. We need to pay attention to the details which we are trying to do with all players.”

Looking for a confidence booster before their Serie A debut versus Udinese, Milan was unable to find that and struggled versus Cesena.

“Some players have just two training sessions with us,” continued Giampaolo. “At the moment the duo that gives me more defensive guarantees is Musacchio-Romagnoli. I’ve yet to see Bennacer properly.”
