Georginio Wijnaldum has insisted that Liverpool aren’t invincible despite sitting at the top of the Premier League and through to the Champions League last 16.

The Reds just made it into the European knockout rounds after beating Napoli 1-0 on Tuesday, with Alisson making a late save to give them the three points they needed for progression.

The Anfield outfit are also yet to taste defeat domestically and host Manchester United on Sunday looking to extend their lead at the top of the table.

But the Netherlands international has tried to dampen the fervent expectation

“Invincible? No, not really!” Wijnaldum told Goal.

“We know we have to do a lot to not lose games and even more to win it. We know we have to give a good performance every week to continue the run we are in.

“I don’t really think we are invincible and if we think that we have a manager that would put both feet on the ground!”
