Not that the EFL Trophy final has come and gone, Sunderland can now focus on securing promotion back to the Championship.

Following their shootout loss at Wembley, Jack Ross’ side bounced back with a resounding 3-0 win over Accrington Stanley.

The Black Cats are currently sitting in third place, three points behind Barnsley with a pair of games in hand.

Jack Ross delivered the injury report for Sunderland in his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of their important match away at Rochdale.

“The only one that comes back into the squad is George Honeyman, who has completed his suspension,” Ross told his pre-match press conference.

“Reece James and Lee Cattermole miss out, along with Adam Matthews, Chris Maguire, and Duncan Watmore.”

Sunderland are unbeaten in their last 21 games in all competitions.
