Genk striker Mbwana Samatta has been absolutely sensational with the Belgian outfit in recent times, banging in eight goals in 19 matches this season – including Champions League strikes against Red Bull Salzburg and Liverpool.

Last season, the Tanzanian stole the headlines with a 32-goal season to help Genk lift the Jupiler Pro League title, so it’s no wonder why he’s been linked to a trio of Premier League sides.

West Ham, Newcastle, and Crystal Palace are all said to have been tracking the 26-year-old, with the Magpies said to have sent scouts to watch him on multiple occasions.

However, according to Tanzania’s Mwana Spoti, upon arrival at the airport ahead of Tanzania’s AFCON qualifying opening match against Equitorial Guinea, Samatta denied that his representatives have discussed any interest from England.

Samatta’s current contract expires in 2021 and is said to contain a modest £10m release clause.
