There has been a lot of talk surrounding Lucas Paquetá ever since Milan announced that they had agreed to purchase the player from Brazilian side Flamengo for €35m back in October.
Now, it’s time for him to prove his worth and all signs point to a Paquetá debut on Saturday in Milan’s Coppa Italia round-of-16 match at Sampdoria.
Ahead of Saturday’s clash, Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso admitted he’s surprised and impressed about what the Brazilian can add to his squad.
“Paquetá is a sharp player, a player with precise characteristics,” Gattuso said.
“He seems like a European player, not a Brazilian, he has a Brazilian style of play but he knows the field well, he has physical quality.
“His head works well even in a tactical sense. This is something important that I am surprised about.
“He is a 21-year-old player who has always been a professional with charisma and who chases the opponents.
“We made a great signing.”
