Serie A strugglers Frosinone have announced the departure of coach Moreno Longo and swiftly replaced him with former Benevento boss Marco Baroni.

Longo was appointed in the summer of 2017 and guided the Canarini to promotion to Serie A via the play-offs in his first season in charge.

However, the 42-year-old leaves the club languishing in 19th in the table having taken just eight points from their first 16 matches of the season.

“Frosinone thanks Longo and his collaborators for the work done and wishes them the best for their professional future,” read a short statement released via the club’s official website on Wednesday morning.

Baroni, meanwhile, also gained promotion to Serie A in the 2016/17 season when he took Benevento up via the play-offs.

However, the 55-year-old has been out of work since he was sacked in October 2017.
