Mason Mount is doing his best to tear up all of the plans his coach Frank Lampard had in place for the new season.
The 20-year-old starred on loan at Derby County last season under the man who ultimately won the top job at Chelsea.
He has done so again during pre-season, blowing his manager away and causing him quite a few headaches with his team selection.
“Obviously I worked with him last year and I’m really happy with how he’s trained and his status within the group,” Lampard said, quoted by the Metro.
“He has done a lot. The other players recognise quality instantly but they also recognise work rate and character.
“Mason has got all of those and he has given me a problem.
“I couldn’t have asked for any more of Mason that what he has done.”
Mount has yet to make a senior appearance for the Blues but that could change as soon as their Premier League opener.
They travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United next Sunday.
