President Florentino Pérez admitted four years ago that Francesco Totti was “the only player ever to say ‘no’ to Real Madrid”.
But now, that could be about to change.
Los Blancos famously made two moves for the Italian superstar during his playing career, once in 2001 and a final time in 2004.
Totti decided to stay with Roma, his boyhood club, and eventually saw out his entire 25 year career at Stadio Olimpico.
But after he walked out of the Giallrossi last month over what he called “broken promises” it looks as if the 42-year-old could now be on his way to the Spanish capital.
Reports in both Corriere della Sera and Gazzetta dello Sport say that Totti has been offered the chance to become a Club Ambassador for Real Madrid and is seriously considering their proposal.
He is also believed to have opportunities to work at the Italian FA, with Sampdoria and in Qatar, but both papers claim that Real Madrid have the upper hand right now.
