The English top division may have shut its doors to new arrivals a while ago – insert your own Brexit joke here – but the rest of Europe are still deep in this transfer business.

Which players though, could still earn mega-money moves before the window shuts?

Let’s find out.

Neymar

This one has had more twist and turns that an M. Night Shyamalan movie.

There were rumblings in May that all was not well in the Neymar camp with the Brazilian striker looking to leave Paris Saint-Germain and make a return to Barcelona.

And that’s exactly what has transpired.

So far the Blaugrana have made several offers for the 26-year-old, with the latest being a €100m plus Philippe Coutinho.

PSG are standing firm though, and are holding out for at least €200m.

Expect this one to go right down to the wire.

Gareth Bale

First it was Manchester United, then Tottenham. A move to China looked set for completion only for Real Madrid to pull the plug.

Now though, it seems only Bayern Munich are in the running for the Welsh winger.

A long-running feud between Bale and coach Zinedine Zidane seems to have put pay to his chances of playing for Los Blancos again but will his astronomical wages halt a potential move away from the Spanish capital?

Mauro Icardi

Controversy seems to follow Mauro Icardi wherever he goes and this summer has been no exception.

Inter have insisted that the Argentine striker will not play for them again with coach Antonio Conte claiming he is not part of his plans going forward.

The signing of Romelu Lukaku (who has taken Icardi’s No9 shirt) would seem to have rubber-stamped that decision with a host of clubs now eyeing the South American hitman.

Napoli and Juventus are in the hot seat with the player himself hoping to secure a switch to Turin before the window is out.

Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba is so integral to the new-look Real Madrid that reports from Spain are claiming that if he does not join this summer, Zidane could walk.

Pogba has made it cleat that he is looking to leave Manchester United after three years.

So far Los Blancos have failed to meet United’s valuation of the World Cup winner, with the Old Trafford outfit thought to want upwards of €170m.

Will Florentino Perez come up trumps and bring Zidane the man he so desperately wants?

It could have serious consequences should he not.

Paulo Dybala

All the indications were that Paulo Dybala was leaving Juventus for either Manchester United or Tottenham on deadline day.

That did not happen.

But still Juve are looking, for reasons known only to them, to push Dybala out of the door this summer.

So far no other clubs have made a move for the Argentina international but don’t be surprised if that changes over the next few weeks.
