The fallout from Milan midfielders Tiémoué Bakayoko and Franck Kessié’s controversial celebration continues.

They landed themselves in hot water after parading Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi’s jersey under the Curva Sud.

It came after a social media spat in the build-up to the game, which the Rossoneri won 1-0, between Bakayoko and Acerbi.

The Milan duo’s actions have not gone down well, particularly with FIGC president Gabriele Gravina.

“What happened at the San Siro showed a disrespectful attitude,” Gravina told La Politica nel Pallone.

“It was unworthy [of players] and they must be punished, according to the ethical principles of the world.

“There were jokes on social media and as [Gennaro] Gattuso said, there should be less social media and more work.

“Exchanging the shirt was a show that [Acerbi] wanted to end the controversy.

“To show it off as a trophy generates a nasty reaction that we must prevent.”

The players are set to learn their fate on Tuesday, with a one-game ban looking likely.
