Fifa are ready to completely revamp the loan market and how clubs treat young players.

According to SportBILD, the governing body of football are planning to limit the number of players a single club can loan out at a time.

“It is important to include certain rules, such as limiting the number of players a club can own and loan out,” Fifa president Gianni Infantino said back in February.

Certain clubs have looked to hoard young talents in recent years, loaning incredible numbers of players out per season with a view to developing them and selling them for a healthy profit once they’ve proven themselves.

The proposed limit set by Fifa would see clubs able to loan out just eight players at a time.

Premier League club Chelsea have strongly followed this model and currently have way over 30 players out on loan for the second consecutive season.

There is a similar policy in place at Juventus, who have sent an incredible 50 players on loan this season.

According to the report, the plan would be phased in, so clubs with big squads have time to sell players without being forced to sell 3o or 40 players in one summer.

Juventus, though, are already prepared for the laws to change.

“The solution? Second-team and buy-back options,” Juve chief executive Giuseppe Marotta said back in April after admitting he was concerned by Fifa’s plans.

Juventus have a B-team in Italy’s third flight for the first time this season.
