Manchester City player Fernandinho has the full support of Tite, who has played him in all four Brazil matches in the World Cup.

The yellow card that Casemiro took in the clash against Mexico means that he will not be able to participate in the Seleção’s quarter-final clash against Belgium.

Although the Real Madrid player is a key player, there is nothing to worry about: Fernandinho can replace him.

Tite knows this well and trusts the Manchester City player, who has even been handed the captain’s armband for the national side.

Fernandinho has been involved in his fair share of memorable moments in the famous yellow shirt. One, in particular, is the duel against Argentina at the Mineirão, the team’s first game in the stadium after the 7-1 defeat for Germany. He was responsible for marking none other than Lionel Messi and succeeded.

On the occasion, the Brazilian team strolled over the Argentines, winning with authority 3-0 and Fernandinho did not let Messi see the ball, ending the match as the best defender.

Strangely enough against Belgium, Brazil’s opponents in the quarter-finals, Fernandinho will face club mates such as Kevin De Bruyne and Vicent Kompany, as well as players he is accustomed to facing in the Premier League like Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku, Michy Batshuayi, and Thibault Courtois, amongst others.

The confidence in Fernandinho is so great that Tite put the player on the field in all four games so far in this World Cup. He is considered an important piece of the midfield, capable of playing in various positions

The Brazilian team faces Belgium on Friday at the Kazan Arena. The winner will face the winner of France and Uruguay in the World Cup semi-finals.
