Cesc Fàbregas is exploring possible opportunities away from Chelsea but is still battling to regain his place in the team.

The 31-year-old is planning for his future and is working on contingency plans to find a new club, according to Goal.com, though is looking to impress Maurizio Sarri in a bid to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Fabregas’ current deal runs out in the summer and the Blues are yet to give the former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder assurances over whether a new deal will be offered. The west London club have a policy in place in which players over the 30 are only offered extensions of on year.

Up against new signings Mateo Kovačić and Jorginho for a place in midfield, as well as his own injury problems, Fabregas remains keen to fight his way back into the team.

However, should he fail to force his way back in, his representatives are already on the lookout for a new club. The Spaniard was tentatively linked with a switch to Milan in the summer.
