Sunday’s matchup versus Flamengo is a very important one for not only Corinthians but also for manager Fábio Carille, as the two biggest clubs in Brazil face off at Arena Corinthians.
The Timão needs a win to continue to fight to get close to the top four in the Campeonato Brasileiro, and Carille hopes to end a losing streak versus the Red and Black.

Ever since taking over Corinthians, Carille has never defeated the club from Rio de Janeiro and holds a record of 0-1-3 (W-T-L).
In 2017, when Corinthians won the Campeonato Brasileiro, the Timão played two matches with Flamengo, losing one and earning a draw in the other match.
This season, the teams faced off against each other in the Copa do Brasil, where Flamengo won both games by 1-0.
